The site lies at Hanpoling village in the eastern hills of Tianfu New Area — 275 mu of woodland and collective farmland between the Lushan avenue and neighbouring villages. The design question was set from the start: how modern construction and contemporary standards of comfort can answer a traditional Chinese spiritual need — to entrust one’s feelings to mountains and water, and to return to the pastoral.
The hotel disperses into the terrain as a family of courtyards and pavilions among retained groves. Guest wings follow the contours; wellness programmes, hot baths and dining halls occupy the folds of the valley; and farmland remains in productive use as the foreground of the guest experience. Under construction for Hongsheng Group.
