The Li-Xiao road links the valleys of Li County to the Xiaojin passes — a route of gorges, terraced villages and high orchards. The visitor centre gives this journey a threshold: a folded roof plane lifts toward the valley view, sheltering an open hall where orientation, local produce and rest areas share one continuous space.
Materials are drawn from the route itself — stone from the gorge, timber from the forest belt — so the centre reads as a built continuation of the road’s landscape rather than an imported object.
